BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A man who pleaded guilty to conspiring with his mother to murder his stepfather in 2019 was sentenced on Monday.
David Auclair was found shot to death at a Hinesburg trailhead in July 2019. Prosecutors say his wife, Angela Auclair, pulled the trigger and that she planned the murder with her son Kory George.
George took a deal last year, pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Monday, he was sentenced to 18 years to serve.
Angela Auclair was also supposed to be sentenced on Monday, but that didn’t happen. Court records indicate she has requested a new lawyer, despite already having agreed to plead guilty to a conspiracy to commit murder charge.
