Champlain College to build NuHarbor cybersecurity campus

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Champlain College boosting opportunities for students studying cybersecurity.

They’re building a permanent spot on campus for NuHarbor Security, a cybersecurity company based in Colchester.

Students will have access to internships, mentors, hands-on learning, and scholarships focused on cybersecurity. Champlain currently has about 600 cybersecurity students many of whom go on to work at NuHarbor.

College President Alex Hernandez says he hopes the partnership attracts and keeps cybersecurity students in Vermont.

“We think that there are so many opportunities in cybersecurity that this is a great pathway to boost the entire state,” said Hernandez.

The NuHarbor space will be added next to the Leahy Center for Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity.

Renovations will wrap up in January of next year.
