BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Registration for the Green Mountain Conservation Camp is now open.
In total, there are 17 week-long sessions between their two locations – Buck Lake in Woodbury and Lake Bomoseen in Castleton.
It’s an opportunity to learn about things like wildlife, hunting practice and safety, and outdoor first aid.
Staff say they’ve seen an increase in campers in recent years.
“We’re almost at capacity every year, which is really great to see. Just being able to have the word spread, a lot of our advertising is just through word of mouth- whether from campers who have been to the camp or from people who’ve worked there- and so that’s really cool to see,” said Hannah Phelps of Vt. Fish & Wildlife.
Each camp session costs 250 dollars but financial aid is available.
