PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – The opening of a new dispensary in Plattsburgh is coming with a lounge, the first in the county to do so.
The Herb Cave on Route 3 says it took two years to get their license to serve, but now that they’ve got it, they’re looking forward to joining the Lake City’s recreational cannabis industry.
The dispensary also has a unique drive-thru beside it and a delivery service. It’s the third dispensary to open in Plattsburgh, and they’re about a mile away from the ones downtown. The dispensary is co-owned by a woman, technically making it the first woman-owned dispensary in the city.
“We can do anything that anybody else can do. If it’s a male-dominated field, that’s not gonna stop us. We’re still gonna get into it. I’m just so excited to see what we’re going to do for the community,” said co-owner Samantha Stokes.
The lounge portion is not open yet. The Herb Cave says they are still waiting on ventilation guidelines from the state, but they expect the lounge to open in the next few months.
