KILLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Killington bakery that recently set the world record for the largest whoopie pie will soon shut its doors for good.
Dream Maker Bakers made a whopping 1,100-pound pie for the Rutland Whoopie Pie Festival in September.
Bakery owner Megan Wagner says part of the reason she wanted to score that record is because she knew it would be their final chance to earn it.
“We had told the chamber this is what was probably going to be happening in the near future and that was… part of why we went for the record,” Wagner said. “We know our customers by name, we know their orders– it’s just going to be really hard not providing that and being a part of that anymore.”
Wagner says she doesn’t plan to stop baking, just moving to a smaller scale.
The bakery’s final day is this Sunday when it will be open until 12:30 p.m.
