HARTFORD, Vt. (WCAX) – The Hartford High School performer with hopes of making it big has made it to the top five for Broadway’s Next on Stage competition.
Senior Macy Bettwieser submitted an audition to see what would happen, and did not imagine she would make it this far.
Bettwieser filmed her audition for the top five Sunday morning.
She says going through the process of filming auditions has helped her learn a ton.
“Slowly each week of sending auditions in my new auditions for each round I feel like I kinda improve on little skills that I didn’t know before. So even just the competition itself is a learning tool that’s going to hopefully help in the industry in general,” Bettwieser said.
The next steps are in the hands of the voting public. If Bettwieser makes it to the top three, she will fly to the Big Apple to sing at a famous theater and learn from a professional voice coach.
The winner gets a scholarship to a New York performing arts conservatory.
