BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – New York is rolling out a new way to verify it’s you – on your phone.
The new Mobile ID is an app for New York residents with a state license, permit, or non-driver ID.
Once enrolled, businesses that use the program can tap or scan a QR code to verify age while protecting your personal information.
This fall, the New York State Liquor Authority told bars and restaurants that Mobile ID is an acceptable way to verify customer age.
