POWNAL, Vt. (WCAX) – A Massachusetts teen accused of a deadly stabbing in Vermont is facing new charges.
Elizah Coppedge, 18, of Chicopee, Massachusetts, pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder earlier this year in what police call a drug-related stabbing in Pownal. Casey Gras, 36, of Bennington, was killed.
In court on Monday, Coppedge pleaded not guilty to newly filed kidnapping charges.
Prosecutors say new information shows the Coppedge threatened two other people connected to the stabbing when they tried to leave a car he was also in.
Coppedge continues to be held without bail.
