MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – With the countdown on to the transition to the Donald Trump White House, Vermont Progressives want Gov. Phil Scott to call a special session to prepare for possible administrative actions, but the governor said Wednesday he won’t do it.
Progressives say a special session would allow Vermont to take steps to prepare for possible Trump administration actions on things like women’s rights, immigration, education and climate change.
However, at his weekly news briefing Wednesday morning, the governor said he would not call a special session. He said we need to see what happens first and listen to any proposals before taking any action.
