CHARLOTTE, Vt. (WCAX) – The largest agency on aging in Vermont is celebrating 50 years of serving seniors.
Age Well Vermont celebrated the milestone Thursday night with a party at the Old Lantern in Charlotte.
Age Well’s mission is to support seniors in whatever way they can. They have a helpline, Meals on Wheels, Medicare counseling and more. Care coordinators focus on connection and community for seniors while helping folks age at home.
Communications Director Tracey Shamberger says Age Well has delivered more than 11 million meals in the last 50 years, and their work is far from over.
“The population has grown with older people in our community, and coming up with new programs and services and resources for them to support them at home where they want to age in place has been an honor and a privilege,” Shamberger said.
The organization aimed to raise $15,000 at the celebration in Charlotte.
