Professional basketball returns to Barre with Vermont Coyotes

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – Professional basketball is returning to Barre.

The American Basketball Association has announced the league is returning to Central Vermont with the Vermont Coyotes.

The Coyotes will begin play in the 2025/26 season at the Barre Municipal Auditorium, the former home of Vermont’s previous professional basketball team, the Vermont Frost Heaves.

The team will hold a news briefing on Oct. 15 to announce the head coach and other team personnel.
