BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A new initiative is aimed at helping LGBTQ business owners and entrepreneurs succeed.
The Vermont Pride and Prosperity Network is a collaboration between several organizations including the Pride Center of Vermont, the Small Business Administration, and the Vermont Treasurer’s Office. The goal is to provide education, connection, and celebration. It is being supported by the M&T Charitable Foundation with a funding commitment of $225,000 over three years.
“Getting people connected, events to bring people together to celebrate and to identify what are the needs of this community and then putting resources into helping them access those. It’s pretty clear that we need specific resources. Access to capital is a real issue for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs,” said Claire Wheeler with the Vermont Pride and Prosperity Network.
