SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – This week’s Pets with Potential are a kitten, a dog, and a pair of bonded guinea pigs.
Mau Mau is a four-year-old kitty who shelter staff describe as a chatty, charming people-pleaser. She’s a kitty who needs her freedom and flexibility and should be the only cat in a home with no young children. Her green eyes could steal your heart.
Athena is an eight-year-old, 76-pound pup who staff says is a charming, poised, and smart canine. She’s good with cats but should be the home’s only dog. Athena is house-trained and crate-trained and can even pull off a few tricks like rolling over. Shelter staff describe her as a patient protector.
Trinket and River are a pair of bonded guinea pigs who need to be adopted together. Their hobbies include nibbling on grass, munching carrots, and getting lots of love from their humans. Shelter staff say River is on the timid side but Trinket is very social and tolerates handling. They describe Trinket as being River’s “emotional support piggie.”
If you’re interested in adopting Trinket, River, Athena, or Mau Mau, head to the Humane Society of Chittenden County’s website.
