Lebanon Police arrest 5 in fentanyl bust

LEBANON, N.H. (WCAX) – A fentanyl bust in the Upper Valley has landed both Vermont and New Hampshire residents behind bars.

Lebanon Police say they got a tip about suspicious drug activity at 9 High Street in Lebanon. Surveillance at the apartment complex — in partnership with the New Hampshire Drug Task Force — eventually led to a raid of one of the units. Police say they seized roughly 600 bags of fentanyl and $1,000 in cash inside the apartment. They say the bust would not have happened without the tip.

“A lot of these cases, we rely on community members and people out there to report suspicious activity for us to follow up on. Obviously, we can’t be everywhere 24/7, so it’s a partnership with the community,” said Lebanon Police Chief Phil Roberts.

Those arrested include Shannon Barry, 36, of Turnbridge; Kaleb McCullough, 44, of Chelsea; Jose Baret, 32, of Hartford, Connecticut; Cynthia Waugh, 60; Kelly Blankenship, 45, both from Lebanon.

They all face a variety of charges including possession, transportation, and sale of controlled drugs.
