Vermont Fish and Wildlife surveying hunters by phone

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – If you get a call from Vermont Fish and Wildlife, the state says it’s not a scam; it’s part of a survey.

They will be calling the 81,000 people who hold Vermont hunting licenses to ask questions about things like deer hunting, small game hunting and bear hunting.

Vermont Fish and Wildlife says they have public forms and comments, but they hope this helps them hear from a majority of active hunters and can help influence their next decisions.

“It’s just important for people to understand this is legit. It is confidential, obviously, and it is a way to contribute to what we love and that is Vermont’s wildlife,” said Christopher Saunders of Vermont Fish and Wildlife.

The calls will continue through the end of the week.
