WINOOSKI, Vt. (WCAX) – Winooski Deputy Mayor Thomas Renner Thursday announced his bid for Vermont lieutenant governor.
Surrounded by supporters at the Winooski Circle, The Democrat outlined the priorities he has pushed for in Winooski including affordability, housing, community safety, and equity.
“One of the things that appeals to me of the lieutenant governor’s office — it is an amazing office in which we can message the values of the Vermonters, where we can speak about the things that are concerning Vermonters every day — the things that I talk about with my spouse at my kitchen table — is also a place where we can show to the rest of the state what we want to become what we want Vermont to look like,” Renner said.
Incumbent Lt. Governor David Zuckerman is the only other candidate in the race so far. Vermont’s primary is on August 13th.
