SOUTH HERO, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont State Police are investigating the deaths of two men whose bodies were found outside a home in South Hero.
Police were called Thursday at about 11:30 a.m. to a home on Kibbe Farm Road.
The two men, ages 68 and 35, were pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Investigators say they believe this is an isolated incident with no threat to the public. They say it involved people who knew each other and they believe everyone involved is accounted for, and there is no one in custody. One of them was 68 years old and the other was 35 years old.
Troopers did not say how the men died and have not released their identities. They say the bodies were sent to the medical examiner to determine the cause and manner of death. VSP Spokesperson Adam Silverman would not confirm if this was a murder-suicide, but they do have an idea of what unfolded.
“We are treating this as at least one suspicious death, and beyond that, we’ll be able to provide additional characterization especially once we get a ruling from the medical examiner’s office,” said Silverman.
Investigators were still at the scene Thursday evening gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
