Named one of People’s Emerging Artists to Watch in 2023, the New York-based singer-songwriter, who draws on inspirations as disparate as Paramore’s Hayley Williams and forward-thinking pop icons like P!nk and Madonna, decided she had done enough playing modestly whenever she posted new music. “I used to be very wary of people’s judgments,” Warner says. “I was self-deprecating and would be like, ‘This is so cringy, haha.’ Finally, it clicked, and I was like, ‘Wait, this is who I am and what I want to do, and I don’t have to pretend otherwise.’”
