UVM casts doubt on eclipse in April Fools’ Day joke

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The University of Vermont leaned into April Fools’ Day and the coming total solar eclipse with a fun article on Monday.

UVM put out an animation saying scientists got the date and trajectory of the eclipse wrong and it wouldn’t be coming over us at all!

Of course, in reality, nothing has changed. It’s a joke.

But because a few of viewers wrote into us about it, we wanted to remind everyone to approach anything you see on April Fools’ Day with an extra-healthy dose of skepticism.
