Some Vermont courthouses to close for eclipse

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Courthouses across the northern part of the state will be closed to the public on April 8 because of anticipated road closures and high traffic due to the eclipse.

That includes counties like Chittenden, Franklin, Grand Isle, Lamoille, Orleans, Caledonia, Essex and Washington.

People who need to apply for relief from abuse orders that day can call 1-800-540-9990. Any updates will be posted on the Vermont Judiciary website.

Courthouses in other Vermont counties will remain open.
