BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – A Barton man is set to appear in court Friday after a hit-and-run incident at a Northeast Kingdom gas station.
Vermont State Police were notified of a crash at Circle K on Main Street in Barton on March 5.
An investigation revealed that 29-year-old Kevin Croteau was fighting with multiple people at the fuel pumps in the parking lot.
After a physical fight, Croteau intentionally drove his truck into another truck, trying to hit another man, but instead pinned 34-year-old Jamie Cassidy of Glover between the truck she was fueling and the pump.
Croteau then fled the scene and was later arrested on Thursday after being spotted in another vehicle.
It was revealed Croteau’s license was suspended and he was seen consuming alcohol before the incident. He could not drink alcohol as per court-ordered conditions of release.
He’s currently being lodged at the Northern State Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail and is scheduled in Vermont Superior Court on Friday at 12:30.
