Republican presidential candidate Haley to campaign in Vermont

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley is making a campaign stop in Vermont this weekend.

Her team says Haley will be at the Doubletree Hotel in South Burlington at noon on Sunday.

That’s two days before Vermonters head to the polls next Tuesday, March 5, to weigh in on the primary.

Vermont is one of 15 states voting on Super Tuesday.

Haley may see Vermont and its open primary as a place to pick up a win over Donald Trump. But a recent poll from the University of New Hampshire shows Vermont Republicans strongly backing the former president 61% to 31%.

Haley lost to Trump in her home state of South Carolina over the weekend but said it’s not “the end of our story” and she would be staying in the race.
