Northern New York man killed in Malone crash

MALONE, N.Y. (WCAX) – Police say a Malone man died in a crash near Titus Mountain on Tuesday.

New York state police say Francis Perry, 25, was driving on Route 30 in Malone when he veered off the road and into a small pond. Troopers say Perry was thrown from his vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

One of Perry’s family members, Chad Filion, told WCAX News Perry was a single father of four children and had been making his way home from an overnight work shift.

“I do not understand how this would have happened, I do not. He does not get tired, this kid is energetic, positivity just rolling out of him, this is just, I do not know,” Filion said.

The vehicle was removed from the water on Tuesday.

Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
