ROYALTON, Vt. (WCAX) – An elderly woman was killed early Wednesday morning when her vehicle was hit by a train.
It happened in Royalton at about 3:15 a.m. at the railroad crossing on Acton Place.
Royalton police say a vehicle driven by Rhea LaRoche, 92, of Westminster, Massachusetts, was hit by a freight train at the crossing. LaRoche died at the scene.
Police don’t yet know why LaRoche was in the area. They say the case is still under investigation.
