Burlington Main Street makeover begins next month

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The city of Burlington is kicking off construction next month on a major makeover of Main Street as part of its $30 million Great Streets initiative.

The mayor’s office Tuesday released renderings of the project that will include new bike lanes, public art, wider sidewalks, and gardens. The transformation will be similar to what the city did on St. Paul Street over the past several years

Construction could start as soon as February 5th and will be phased over the next three construction seasons.

It is being financed by the city’s Downtown TIF district.
