It comes after a proposed bill could delay the special election by 2 months.
Governor Kathy Hochul has to call a special election after Elise Stefanik was tapped by President Trump for United Nations ambassador.
Stefanik served New York’s 21st district for a decade.
WWNY reports that a Democrat-proposed bill would push it to June to hold it at the same time as the primaries in an effort to save money.
Republicans say the move denies the north country a representative in congress.
