Sunday vigil to honor missing woman Maura Murray

HAVERHILL, N.H. (WCAX) – An annual vigil to remember a woman who disappeared in New Hampshire 21 years ago will take place this weekend.

On Feb. 9, 2004, nursing student Maura Murray, 21, vanished after crashing her car along Route 112 in Haverhill, New Hampshire. A neighbor called 911, but when police arrived, Murray was gone.

Sunday, Feb. 9, Murray’s friends and supporters will hold a vigil at the Mountain Lakes Lodge in Woodsville from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

The public is invited to participate virtually by lighting a candle in her honor at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Over the years, police have followed various leads in the case, however, all have turned up empty.

Maura Murray’s family says they are still committed to finding answers.
