MALONE, N.Y. (WCAX) – The lockdown on Upstate Correctional Facility has been lifted.
That comes following a search for an unknown substance that caused prison staff to fall ill.
30 staff members at the correctional facility in Malone got sick after contact with a mysterious substance.
A full facility search was ordered where corrections staff and K-9s recovered 11 weapons and 75 suspicious pieces of contraband.
Those are now being tested for possible drugs.
The investigation into recent incidents and the search results are still under investigation.
