BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Nature Conservancy of Vermont has created a new $1 million fund for organizations statewide aimed at conserving critical habitats threatened by climate change.
The Vermont Biodiversity Protection Fund is a new grant program created to support land protection projects in priority regions across the state. Money will go to nonprofits and municipalities to help fund projects that maintain regional forest connectivity, support biodiversity, and grow Vermont’s climate resilience.
In this week’s Wildlife Watch, Ike Bendavid spoke with the conservancy’s Jim Shallow about their goals for the effort.
