WASHINGTON, D.C. (WCAX) – Vermont Congresswoman Becca Balint spoke out against Elon Musk’s influence on the president at a protest in front of the Treasury Department in D.C. on Tuesday.
With Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, gaining control of the Treasury Department’s payment system, democratic lawmakers are raising alarms about the group’s access to the federal government’s financials and personal information, which they say could pose risks to taxpayers.
In response, one DOGE member says that, quote, “no classified material has been accessed without proper security clearances.”
