South Burlington woman charged with ramming police cruisers on I-87

BEEKMANTOWN, N.Y. (WCAX) – A South Burlington woman faces multiple charges after police say she rammed two Clinton County Sheriff’s cruisers on I-87.

Police say Chelsea Barber, 32, fled from police Sunday around 7:30 p.m. after causing damage to a property on Cornelia Street in Plattsburgh.

Police say they caught up to her on I-87 in Beekmantown and that she rammed into two cruisers, damaging them and injuring a deputy and her passenger. She then drove off the interstate and hit several trees.

Barber faces multiple charges including assault and fleeing from police.
