SANDGATE, Vt. (WCAX) – A New Year’s Day fire left two people dead and sent two to the hospital on Wednesday.
Police got the call at about 11:30 a.m. about the fire at a home on Chunks Brook Road in Sandgate.
Multiple fire departments from Vermont and New York responded to the scene and were eventually able to put out the flames.
Police have not told us the names of the two people who died or the condition of the other two who were injured. The bodies were sent to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Burlington for autopsies to determine the cause of death.
