WOLCOTT, Vt. (WCAX) – Two people found dead in a tent in Wolcott last month died of accidental drug overdoses.
The Lamoille County sheriff said Lucas and Tammy Menard were found dead in a tent on their family’s property on Jones Road the day before Thanksgiving.
The couple had lost their hotel room when state rules changed for the homeless hotel-motel program. Their family said the pair chose to live in a tent and used facilities on the family property.
Records from the Vermont Department of Health now show both died of accidental drug overdoses.
