BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Seasonal celebrations continue on Friday with the second day of Kwanzaa.
The New Alpha Missionary Baptist Church in Burlington’s Old North End is gearing up for a big day on Saturday.
According to the church, Kwanzaa was created to celebrate the importance of Pan-African family and social values.
The holiday runs from December 26 to January 1 every year.
On Saturday, the New Alpha Missionary Baptist Church will hold a feast – an important part of the holiday.
Children also take the spotlight during Kwanzaa, and at Saturday’s event kids will have the chance to share their successes from this year as well as future goals.
