New Vt. nonprofit delivers flowers to homeless housing

BARRE, Vt. (WCAX) – A newly formed nonprofit in Vermont delivered a small gift on Tuesday to those living in homeless housing.

With the help of local middle school students, Samantha Diaz with Fleur de Barre made more than 60 mini flower arrangements for residents at the Good Samaritan Haven in Barre.

She says in the season of giving, providing even the smallest bit of cheer makes a big difference.

“The holidays is when everyone kind of gets into that spirit and this is what we want to use to kick off. We don’t want to just stop giving at the holidays. That’s what it’s all about, even if it’s just a fleeting moment, bringing a smile to someone’s face and giving joy… That’s what it’s all about,” Diaz said.

She says she is planning to make similar arrangements for other holidays like Valentine’s Day.
