Fletcher Free and Library Church Street Marketplace create “Snowflake Station”

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Fletcher Free Library is bringing family-friendly fun to Church Street this holiday season.

The library partnered with the Church Street Marketplace to activate an empty storefront and give families a break from shopping.

The space, dubbed the ‘Snowflake Station”, offers all kinds of activities for kids including storytime, games, crafts, and even the chance to meet Santa.

This is the first time the library has partnered with the marketplace to create a space like this, and so far the feedback from parents has been positive.

“They’re appreciating a space where their kids can relax a little bit and they don’t need to be watching them closely to make sure that they’re not breaking things or grabbing things off shelves,” said Youth Librarian Manager Megan Butterfield.

The “Snowflake Station” will be open Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
