BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – The Marble City is looking to move forward with its plan to construct a new hotel.
The Rutland Development Review Board had its first site plan review of the proposed downtown hotel, replacing “the pit”.
The new building by Belden Developers calls for 99 hotel rooms and 26 apartments, which could be a Cambria hotel, according to city documents.
Members of the board asked about the design and its compatibility with the rest of Center and Wales streets.
Local consultants with the construction company say they’re trying to secure over 200 parking spots at the nearby garage for customers.
There was no vote at the hearing. The board will have 45 days to vote to approve or deny the plan.
