BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – It was a profitable and charitable opportunity Tuesday night at Hula for local artists and business owners.
Hula hosted their “Huladay” market, featuring dozens of local entrepreneurs and artists, and their products.
More than 1,200 people showed up to support them this afternoon. The event was free for vendors, so all profits go directly back to each business. Officials and vendors say a show like this doesn’t come by very often.
“This year we received over 200 applications to be here, which is incredible. We are already thinking about what that means for this event next year,” said Hula CEO Lucia Campriello.
“Hula made it free for us today, which definitely offsets a lot of cost. That’s pretty unique compared to a lot of other markets that happen around where there is usually around a $50 fee. For larger events, $200 vending fee,” said Harmony Edosomwan of Harmony’s Kitchen.
For every $50 spent, Darn Tough Vermont will donate a pair of socks to COTS.
