MILTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Milton Town Manager Donald H. Turner, Jr. died Saturday evening after a short battle with Cancer his family says.
Turner was born in Burlington and was a respected figure in Milton.
He served as state representative for the Chittenden-9 district from 2006 to 2012 – and the 10 district from 2013-2019.
From 2011 to 2019 he took on the role as the minority leader of the Vermont house of representatives.
He also devoted much of his time to Milton; serving at the town manager and 14 years as the fire chief.
His family wrote in his obituary “He will be remembered not only for his extensive public service but also for his unwavering love, kindness, and commitment to those around him. His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday December 7th beginning at 2pm at the recently opened Donald H. Turner, Jr. Public Works building. Turner was 60 years old.
