Annual essay contest launches for Vermont students

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont’s senior senator is overseeing an annual tradition.

Senator Bernie Sanders launched the 15th annual State of the Union essay contest for Vermont students.

The contest is a chance for high schoolers to describe a major issue facing our country and what they would do to solve it.

The essays should be 250 to 500 words and are due by January 14.
