Statehouse Christmas tree arrives in Montpelier

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – The Vermont Statehouse Christmas tree arrived in Montpelier on Tuesday.

It’s a 40-foot Colorado blue spruce from Barre.

Officials say it will serve as a remembrance tree throughout the season, honoring Vermont veterans.

The lighting ceremony will take place next Thursday, Dec. 5, beginning at 4 p.m. and it is free and open to the public. There will also be music, animals, wagon rides and a special reading of “The Night Before Christmas” by Gov. Phil Scott.
