BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Attorneys general from Vermont, New York and New Hampshire are among a coalition of 32 AGs urging congressional leaders to keep children safe online.
They are asking lawmakers to pass the Kids Online Safety Act, which aims to strengthen safety features, give parents more control, and take aim at addictive practices on social media.
In a letter to lawmakers, the group of AGs cites the growing mental health crisis linked to social media, saying that studies show minors spend more than five hours online a day.
