Vt. man pleads not guilty to multiple bank robbery charges

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – An alleged serial bank robber pleaded not guilty this week to federal charges.

Court paperwork says James Plunkett, 39, of Burlington, stole more than $5,000 in total over the course of his robbery spree in late October. That includes $450 from TD Bank, $683 from M&T Bank, $1,342 from KeyBank and $2,858 from Opportunities Credit Union.

If convicted, Plunkett could face up to 20 years in prison.
