TOWNSHEND, Vt. (WCAX) – A California man faces charges after police say he attacked a nurse at a southern Vermont hospital Wednesday morning.
It happened around 9:30 a.m. at the Grace Cottage Hospital in Townshend. Vermont State Police say Adam Rauch, 22, of San Diego, attacked a nurse and damaged property before running away.
While he was on the run, nearby schools took safety precautions but have since have since lifted them.
With help from the public, Police say they found Rauch and arrested him in Newfane just after 2 p.m. He was charged with assault on a protected professional and unlawful mischief.
The nurse was treated for facial injuries and released.
