VTSU reports increased enrollment for apprenticeships in trades programs

MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) – Vermont State University says they are seeing increased enrollment for their trades programs.

The school says enrollment for this academic year is at a record high with over 870 apprentices, including a 20 percent rise in enrollment for plumbing and electrical apprenticeships.

About percent of those students are from Vermont and the school says they’ll make a direct and sustained impact on the state’s workforce.

VTSU is holding two appreciation events as part of Apprenticeship Week — one on Tuesday at the Randolph Center campus and another on Wednesday in Williston. Both run from 10 -12.
