NY teen critically injured when car hits Amish buggy

ESSEX, N.Y. (WCAX) – A teen is in critical condition after a car hit an Amish horse-drawn buggy in the North Country.

It happened in the town of Essex just before 4:30 p.m. Saturday.

New York State Police say a Keeseville man was driving on Stowersville Road when he crested a hill and hit the back of an Amish buggy, ejecting all three young passengers.

One of those passengers, a 15-year-old boy from Essex, suffered a serious head injury. Police say he is in critical condition at the UVM Medical Center.

His two brothers were not injured in the crash.
