PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (WCAX) – North Country veterans, local officials, and community members gathered at Veterans Memorial Park in Plattsburgh on Monday.
They marked the day with patriotic songs, the lowering of 10 flags, a flag dedication, and a civilian award to an Air Force veteran.
Plattsburgh’s Disabled American Veterans chapter got new funding for the park’s walkways and lighting.
“There are a lot of people that do come to the park, it will help them, save them from tripping or being a tripping hazard,” said Disabled American Veterans Commander Steven Robart.
In total, the park will get $125,000 in state funding.
