EAST RYEGATE, Vt. (WCAX) – A federal grand jury returned an indictment charging 36-year-old Douglas Reynolds with one count of possessing a firearm while unlawfully using a controlled substance, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Reynolds is currently in New Hampshire state custody after a reported shooting in the Northeast Kingdom that involved an alleged assault on a U.S. Marshal and a pursuit that began in New Hampshire that ended along Route 5 in Ryegate, Vermont.
Now the new federal charges are not connected to this most recent incident, but one from earlier this year in January where he was arrested in Bradford, accused of drug possession, DUI, and being involved in a possible police chase.
Reynolds will be arraigned once he is brought into federal custody. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
