Cabot secures funds to replace flood-damaged public safety building

CABOT, Vt. (WCAX) – A new public safety facility is coming to Cabot thanks to federal flood recovery funding.

Flooding in July 2023 wiped out the town’s fire and EMS building. First responders have since worked out of a temporary location.

USDA officials announced Friday that they will fund the construction of a new facility to house all of the town’s emergency service operations as part of a $3.7 million package coming to New Hampshire and Vermont.

Other money will fund solar arrays and other renewable energy projects around the region.
