WILLISTON, Vt. (WCAX) – What started with a bar of soap is now a leader in manufacturing skincare products here in Vermont.
Twincraft started in Winooski and began manufacturing skincare and natural deodorants in Essex eight years ago. In the now booming industry, the company now works with top brands like Native, Estée Lauder and Drunk Elephant. So when the Keurig Dr Pepper building in Williston opened up, the company jumped at the opportunity for a larger facility.
The company has hired more than 150 people in the last year, and the move will help allow them to fill more roles. The move to the larger facility in Williston will also benefit the town.
”I think it’s really nice to bring manufacturing into Williston in addition to all the retail and restaurants that are there. It just brings some added diversity and more stability to the Williston economy,” said Michele Asch, a Twincraft employee.
Williston Town Manager Erik Wells says the town is excited for the newcomer.
”It’s a Vermont business that’s grown here. Having that opportunity for folks right in our Williston growth center area for another major employer to locate, it provides that symmetry of having an employer there and also being close to our economic base in town as well,” said Wells.
Twincraft can’t stop manufacturing for their brands, so the move will take place over two years. They hope to start manufacturing in Williston next summer, and then they should be fully moved in after two years. At that time this new location will become their corporate headquarters.
